1. Ones Family
2. A Group of People Who Share a Common Bloodline
Kin is not a word often used by adoptive families but Jonathan and I have come to love the word and couldn't think of a better title for our blog. You see, God himself has chosen to build His family through adoption and the unique thing about His family is that we are related by blood - just not our own. We're considered family because of the blood of Jesus Christ. We have been saved by it and born into His family through it. John 1:12 says, "to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" - children of all different ethnicities, languages, colors and cultures.
So, our future family may look different than most. We may not share the same hair or eye color and we may not even have the same color skin but our hope is that our family - in a small way - will reflect God's Family and that is what makes us kin!

So happy for the two of you as you work to become a family of three. Adoption is a powerful and wonderful way to build your family!
