Life as a Family of Three

It is hard to believe it has been over three months since we have returned home with our precious boy! We have tried to document as much as we could since our return home, as we know this time will go by quickly. Alli and I have taken more picture in the last three months than we did in our first 5 years of marriage combined. But, every phase of his childhood is so fun and so precious, and we want to make sure that we don’t miss any of it! 

We have been able to see Jaden’s little personality come through and we are even more in love than the first day that we brought him home from the hospital. Jaden is a very smiley little boy, loves to laugh, and is becoming quite talkative now that he has found his voice. We believe he is going to be quite an extroverted young man as he seems to really enjoy people and never wants to miss out on anything. 

We have had a number of changes in the last few months, which we are still adjusting to. As you can imagine our first adjustment was learning to function on very little sleep. It also did not take us long to realize that every aspect of our lives would change once we brought the little guy into our home. Alli is adjusting to a new normal as she is now spending most of her week at home. She is still leading worship on Sundays, and has rehearsal on Thursday evenings, but is in the office once a week, which allows her to spend most of her time with Jaden. Jonathan is adjusting to a new job which he recently accepted with Pulte Homes as a sales representative. This job will allow him to be home a lot more often!

We are all looking forward to summer days, stroller walks around the neighborhood and more time with family and friends! When we officially started the adoption process a year ago we took a step of faith not knowing where this journey would lead us or where provision would come from.  Many people partnered with us in prayer and as we now hold our sweet boy in our arms we can boldly testify that God has heard and God has provided abundantly more than we could have asked for or imagined. This is why we named our son Jaden “God Has Heard.” May his life be a living testimony of the goodness of our God!
